We were thrilled when we discovered that our neighbor’s tree swallow had taken up residence in our birdhouse last spring.

On a chilly Saturday morning, before the sun had even risen, I set up my tripod and camera, waiting for the first light to reveal the tiny visitors. It didn’t take long before the tree swallows were in full motion—darting in and out of their new home, never pausing for long. They were fast, unpredictable, and a challenge to photograph. But patience is key. I stayed, watched, and waited for just the right moment, capturing a few incredible images that made the effort completely worth it.
